AI Window Deck

Window manager for Claude Code in the cloud and Codex — run multiple projects at once without getting confused.

Built for Claude Code in the cloud and Codex. Save the sites you use per project, lay them out on a canvas, open them as tiled Chrome windows, and spotlight one with a shortcut — so you can run Project A, B, and C at once without getting confused. Your profile and sign-ins stay as they are.

01What it is

A deck of ordinary Chrome windows

For people who run Claude Code in the cloud, Codex, and other AI tools across several projects. AI Window Deck does not embed or proxy any site. It opens normal Chrome windows and puts them where you want them.

01

Window library

Each saved window has a name and one or more URLs, which open as tabs. Add them one by one, paste a list as text, or import a .txt file.

02

Layout canvas

Drag windows onto a 12 × 12 grid and resize them from any edge. Start from Auto, Vertical, Horizontal, Grid or Focus, or place them freely. Keep several presets.

03

Spotlight

Alt+X enlarges the active window. Press it again, or Alt+Z, and the window goes back to its tile.

The Windows Library tab, listing saved windows with their URLs.

Spotlight settings: enlarge the active window to half, three quarters, full height, full screen or a custom size.

02How it works

Five steps, then one shortcut

Click the toolbar icon. On first run, a short guide marks where to start.

  1. 01

    Choose a display

Under Select Target Display(s), pick the monitor or monitors the deck opens on.

  2. 02

    Register windows

Press + in the Windows sidebar. Give each window a name and one or more URLs.

  3. 03

    Lay them out

Drag windows onto the canvas. Set how many you want, pick a layout, and resize tiles from their edges.

  4. 04

    Launch

Each window opens as its own Chrome window, tiled to match the canvas, with its tabs grouped.

  5. 05

    Spotlight

While you work, Alt+X brings the active window forward. Alt+A re-tiles the deck.

The register dialog: a window name and a list of URLs that open as tabs.

03Features

Small tools around one layout

Everything works from the toolbar popup, a floating controller, or the keyboard.

Launch

Launch and retile

One click opens every window in the layout. Retile moves windows you already launched back into place.

Displays

Multiple displays

Choose which monitor, or which monitors, the deck opens on. Each display can briefly show its number, so you can tell them apart.

Keyboard

Shortcuts

Spotlight, restore, retile and full screen out of the box. Assign next, previous, undo and focus 1–8 yourself.

Controller

Floating controller

Keep a compact controller open next to your work, or open the settings in a larger window of their own.

Backup

Backup and restore

Save every window, layout and setting as a JSON file, and restore it on another machine.

Languages

8 languages

English, 日本語, Deutsch, Español, Français, 한국어, Português (Brasil) and 简体中文. The panel follows the browser until you choose.

From a release ZIP

  1. Download AI-Window-Deck-vX.Y.Z.zip from Releases and unzip it.

  • No analytics, no advertising, no accounts.
  • Settings live in chrome.storage.sync, so Chrome can sync them between your own devices if Chrome Sync is on.
  • Undo state is kept in chrome.storage.session and cleared when the browser session ends.
  • Nothing is sent to the developer or to third parties.

07FAQ

Frequently asked questions

Which AI tools does it work with?
Any site you can open in Chrome. A saved window is just a name and a list of URLs, so chat assistants, documentation, notes and dashboards all work the same way.
Will it change my sign-ins or Chrome profile?
No. It opens ordinary Chrome windows in your current profile. Sign-ins, your password manager and other extensions behave as they always do.
Is any of my data sent anywhere?
No. The extension makes no network requests of its own. If Chrome Sync is on, Chrome may sync your settings between your own browsers. That is done by Chrome, not by the developer.
Why are some shortcuts not set?
Chrome allows an extension to suggest only four default shortcuts. Assign the rest at chrome://extensions/shortcuts.
Does it work across several monitors?
Yes. Choose one or more target displays before launching. The deck reads display sizes and positions to tile each window on the right one.
Can I move my setup to another computer?
Yes. Use Backup to save everything as a JSON file, then restore it on the other machine. With Chrome Sync on, settings may also follow you.
Where do I install it?
From the Chrome Web Store, or from a release ZIP.
